Volition to release stand-alone Red Faction Multiplayer experience?

One big difference between Guerilla and Armageddon is that the latter doesn’t feature competitive multiplayer – instead it comes packed with a ‘horde’ like wave based combat mode called ‘Infestation’. So when and why was this decision made to pull out the competitive aspect to Red Faction? Well, I went to find out.
